The Bears of the Grizzly & Wolf Discovery CenterDiscover: Bears A twin from British Columbia, Canada, Revel was placed in captivity as a young cub after his mother was shot and killed by a rancher in defense of life and property in 1995. Bear cubs can not survive in the wild without their mother and a captive home was the only alternative to being destroyed. Weighing approximately 550 pounds, he is easily distinguished by his very blonde face. Revel can interact in the habitat with Kobuk, Nakina and Spirit. He seems to enjoy a good romp in the habitat and will run from side to side in order to get other bears to chase him. Revel was named after Revelstoke, British Columbia - the area of his birthplace.
